Why Your Support Matters

While in the Amazonian region of Ecuador we were privileged enough to spend time with the elders of the Seikopai tribe. They have beautifully designed, thatched roofed traditional structures which are called maloca. These have been used for hundreds of years for gatherings of the elder medicine men and those who share in their ceremonies.

We have built our own version of a maloca. It is a quiet space for meditation, yoga, tai chi and a lovely spot to hang your hammock. I am still learning about building in a new climate. The roof needs to be extended on both sides by four feet. Luckily I made this relatively simple and only a few materials are needed to achieve an open feeling space that will also keep out the rain in the larger tropical storms.
